“I chose to study at Wakefield College because it allowed me to specialise in Textiles which other colleges did not offer. We have so much creative freedom on the course, allowing me to experiment with weird and out-of-the-box designs. One of my projects involved making a top resembling a butterfly net using rope and string – it required a lot of intricacy!”

“I have used the skills that I’ve learnt on the course on my personal projects such as mending my own clothes, making patchworks and creating stuffed animals. Besides all the sewing and textiles skills, I have also had the opportunity to develop my fundamental art skills which has really improved my drawing. My dream job is to become a costume designer so after this course I’d love to get an apprenticeship somewhere.”

Course:
Level 3 Art & Design (Textiles)
