About Us

Something to celebrate? Perhaps a birthday, exam success or a special anniversary? Why not meet your friends at Gaskell’s and enjoy fine food in a sophisticated but relaxed atmosphere. Gaskell’s is Wakefield College’s fully licensed training restaurant operated by Hospitality and Catering students.

For our students it creates a realistic working environment in which to practise the skills they have learnt in the classroom. For members of the public it provides the opportunity to sample high quality dishes at moderate prices.

This year we will be a 40 cover establishment.

Gaskell’s Restaurant is located on Margaret Street in The Beaumont Building. We open for lunch service on a Tuesday and Wednesday and for dinner service on a Thursday evening. Lunch - Reservation times are 12pm, 12.15pm and 12.30pm. Dinner - Reservation times are 6.30pm, 6.45pm and 7pm.

Lunch - £15pp
Dinner - £22.50pp

We accept, cash, card or cheques that are made payable to ‘Wakefield College’ Please check at the time of booking as with some events prices may vary. We do not offer on site parking, however there is ample parking on Margaret Street and the surrounding area offers multiple car parks. We do have disabled access. Please inform of us of this at the time of booking especially if access to a lift is required.

Dinner Dates 2024/2025

We are opening on a Thursday evening this year for our dinner service. Seating times will be 6.30pm, 6.45pm and 7pm. The prices of our evening menus do vary due to special themed nights. The General bookings diary will then re-open on Monday 13th January at 9am for restaurant dates Tuesday 25th February to Thursday 22nd May - telephone only.
