Course Overview
An evening course for those interested studio sound recording and production. You may be interested in a career as a sound engineer or producer, or in setting up a home studio. You’ll be supported by a tutor and taught in our industry standard refurbished studios..
Workshops that will focus on specific demonstrations and practical experience. Develop skills using current production techniques and methods with support from a tutor with experience in the music industry.
What You Will Study
Utilising the industry-standard software Logic Pro X and digital audio workstations to record, edit and mix music and sound. The course will also cover the use of microphones and other relevant studio equipment.
A more specific list of content includes: microphone choice and placement, equipment connection/configuration, gain structure/signal levels, recording, editing and MIDI programming, use of EQ, dynamics processors, effects processors, MIDI programming, mixdown/production skills.

- How You Will Be Assessed
The course has no formal assessment.
- Entry Requirements
A keen interest in music production is required.
Some basic knowledge would be useful but not essential.
