“After leaving College, I am going on to study Primary Education at Sheffield Hallam University. I really liked how hands-on my classes were, for example, we learnt in the College’s nursery classroom where we created lesson resources and planned activities. My teaching placement has also given me the skills for behaviour management and working with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities which is useful as I want to be a primary school teacher with a focus on SEND children. The course was really fun especially when we did a trip to a forest school where we learnt about outdoor learning for children.”
“At Wakefield College, the tutors have been supportive and have always reassured me that they’re a message away if I need any support. We also had extra sessions after college to really help prepare for exams and work on anything we were struggling with. My advice for anyone taking this course is to keep organised, make notes throughout the course and be open minded when approaching your placement as it’ll be different every day.”
