“I chose to study at the University Centre because I was already familiar with the College and have friends here, so I am more comfortable. Also, class sizes are smaller so you get more dedicated time with tutors. I would recommend it compared to other universities because it’s not as daunting, it’s really manageable which is especially good for people who don’t cope well with busy places.
I have progressed from Level 3 to Level 5 in Health and Social Care and I’d like to continue my studies up until Level 6. My favourite thing about learning here is the discussion work we do in class where we work in groups and share ideas – I get on with everyone really well. I have had excellent support from my Additional Learning Support tutors who supported me 1:1 and encouraged me not to give up.
Whilst being at the College, I have been a member of the Student Union. I have enjoyed taking part in events around the College as it has allowed me to develop my interpersonal skills and I have made great connections with both students and tutors. I recommend joining the Student Union as it’s a great way to meet people and it lets your voice be heard."
