"I am graduating with a PGCE from the University Centre after studying at Selby College for over five years. I have progressed from Level 1 to Level 6 at the College in the IT department and I am now a full-time lecturer here. After speaking to some of my tutors in my Undergrad, they suggested I should go into teaching which led me to study the PGCE.
I have really enjoyed the teaching part of the course, the impartment of knowledge onto the students and developing my teaching style where I can have fun whilst also delivering the necessary content for the course. Teaching in a classroom was daunting at first, but with the guidance from the tutors and peers on my course, I found it is something I really enjoy. I was also the Student's Choice of the Year at the College and it was so nice to feel that sort of recognition from the students that the hard work that I had put into teaching was actually recognised by them"
