Course Overview

This programme is for young adults who will require a high level of support to access employment. Preparation for Work is a skills development programme that includes a substantive amount of work placement with one or more local employers. The programme is delivered both in college and in a workplace setting and you will be trained to complete a range of tasks which will improve your skill set and work experience. You will be fully supported by a Job Coach who will help you set and achieve your own personal targets that will improve your independence, employability skills and confidence.

What You Will Study

You will receive on-the-job training including induction, health & safety awareness, conduct at work and how to meet work expectations. 

You will also continue to develop your English, Maths and Digital skills.

  • How You Will Be Assessed

    Your Tutor/Job Coach/employer will continually assess your performance and give regular feedback.

  • Entry Requirements

    No formal qualifications are required but you must be motivated and have an aspiration to work or go on to an Apprenticeship.

    You must be 18-24 years old and require learning support.

  • Further Study

    Apprenticeship or further training programme.
