What You Will Study

Examples of some of the topics you may study are:

  • How You Will Be Assessed

    Your practical work and written work will be assessed by the tutor throughout the course and internally verified.
     
    You will be assessed against examining body specifications which will be given to you within your assignment briefs.

    Level 3 students will mainly be assessed through assignments and practical project work that count towards your final grade. For each project leading up to your Final Major Project, you will be marked Pass/Fail, with developmental feedback given. Your Final Major Project will be marked Pass/Merit/Distinction and will be the grade that you take forward.

  • Entry Requirements

    4 GCSEs at Grade 9-4, including English or Maths and a Grade 3 in either English or Maths.
    OR
    4 GCSEs at Grade 9-4 including English or Maths and a Level 2 in either English or Maths.
    OR
    Successful completion of Level 2 at Merit Grade and GCSE English or Maths at  Grade 4 and Level 2 English or Maths.

    PLUS
    Satisfactory interview for all options above.

     

  • Further Study

    On completion with the appropriate pass and English and Maths grades you can progress through the levels.

    After Level 3 those interested in Film and Television or Photography could progress to the HNC/HND Diploma in Creative Media Production (Film and Television) or HNC/D in Photography courses at Wakefield College. Students also progress onto Video, Film, Media, Journalism, Animation, Photography, Web Design and Special Effects Production courses at a range of Higher Education Institutions.
