Course Overview
The Access to HE Computing allows students to develop their skills in preparation for progression to university, students who successfully complete this course progress to study:
- Computer Science
- Games Design
- Data Analytics
This is a fully online course, where you can access the course materials and assessments 24 hours a day. You will be fully supported throughout your course with online 1:1 tutorials and group tutorials.
What You Will Study
Throughout this course you will study a range of different subject areas including, Computing and Maths. Some of the units that you will study are:
- Components of a Computer System
- AI, Machine and Deep Learning
- Web Page Design and Production
- Pure Math
- Attendance Expectations
There is no on-site attendance required, though students are expected to undertake 10-15 hours study per week.
- How You Will Be Assessed
You will be assessed through different methods, including written assignments, presentations and timed controlled assessments.
- Entry Requirements
GCSE Grade 9-4 in English and Maths
OR
Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths
- Fee Information
£3,384
Students who were under 24 as at the 31st August who do not already hold a Level 3 qualification (eg. A levels or Level 3 BTec) may not have to pay fees, this is dependent on your postcode.
All other students can apply for the Advanced Learner Loan to cover the fees. This is a type of student loan, but if you progress to university and complete your degree, the loan will be cancelled and consequently your Access course will be free.
