A green skills workshop at Castleford College

Course Overview

This course is for plumbers, builders and ground works engineers who require an understanding of the design, installation and maintenance of rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling systems.

This two day course will enable you to gain the skills and knowledge required to install Rainwater Harvesting and Greywater Recycling (Water Reuse) systems, including domestic and commercial applications.

Certification is valid for five years.

A training manual will be provided to support self-study at your own pace prior to attending for the two days where you will study in our purpose-built workshop facility.

What You Will Study

The objective is to enable participants to:

  • Choose the most appropriate Rainwater Harvesting and/or Greywater Recycling System for a building based on the needs and demands of the client.
  • Install any of the common types of Rainwater Harvesting and/or Greywater Recycling Systems in the UK safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain and service the common Rainwater Harvesting and/or Greywater Recycling Systems in the UK.
  • Attendance Expectations

    Two days.

    Weekdays and evenings are available together with Saturday.

  • How You Will Be Assessed

    Consists of a combination of practical and theory examinations.

  • Entry Requirements

    Number of years experience in relevant subject area, or hold a formal qualification in plumbing or heating engineering.

  • Fee Information

    This course may be funded for adult learners with a West Yorkshire post code.

    Alternatively, the fee is £TBC
