T Levels are a new 2-year post GCSE qualification for 16-19 year olds that are being rolled out across England. Wakefield College launched its T Level offer this September with the first T Level students kicking it off in style.
The Education and Childcare T Level students started the new academic year by making story sacks to support literacy skills in their industry placements. T Levels have been designed with leading businesses and employers to include an industry placement alongside their classroom learning to help students learn what a real career is like and to gain the knowledge and skills employers need.
The T Level students have also been looking at the roles and responsibilities of specific childcare and education occupations. To support this learning, a nursery manager was invited to talk about the career and progression pathways available within the Education and Childcare sector via Teams. The manager’s talk was inspirational, this opportunity will help to concrete the knowledge and understanding the students have and put this into context in this sector.
Equivalent to 3 A Levels, T Levels are available in:
- Design, Surveying & Planning for Construction
- Digital Support Services
- Education & Childcare
- Maintenance, Installation & Repair for Engineering & Manufacturing
- Management & Administration
Applications are now open for courses starting in September 2022.
Get ahead of the crowd and into your desired career with a T Level!
