Wakefield is still reeling after an incredible weekend of live music at Long Division 2019 last month.
The festival which showcased a huge variety of music all the way from jazz to grime, rocked the city across an assortment of venues including Wakefield College’s Mechanics’ Theatre on Wood Street.
The theatre, which is home to Wakefield College’s performing arts centre, played host to an incredible lineup including English/German indie band Art Brut and Scottish electro trio BIS.
Festival Director Dean Freeman said: “Long Division 2019 was a great experience; it felt like the whole city came together more than ever before.
“The shows and bands were amazing, but I also really enjoyed the feel around the city. It felt like everyone had a wristband on their arm and a smile on their face.
“Wakefield has few dedicated music venues, so having support from the College is essential in making this happen and keeps the grassroots of music alive in our city.”
Mechanics' is set to host more upcoming events including this weekend's Upload Festival (June 15th) which sees a huge lineup of talented Wakefield College music students.
