“Since I was 6 years old, I always said I wanted to be a mechanic but after school I chose to go down a different route. Soon realising it wasn’t for me, I returned to my first passion and enrolled on the Level 2 HGV course at Castleford College. My favourite part so far is stripping down the brakes to the axle and building it back up from there. The atmosphere at the college is brilliant, the tutors are great, specially to those who have just started doing the course and need advice. After this I’m going to go down the apprenticeship route, preferably working on fire engines or in a garage with a fleet.”
