What You Will Study

All study programmes cover health, safety, and principles of construction relevant to the trade and Sustainability. They also aim to develop practical skills for this craft.

With this you will study:

  • Principles of Construction
  • How to Work Safely in a Construction Environment
  • How to Set Out Building Work
  • How to Build Block Walls
  • How to Build Brick Walls
  • How to Build Cavity Walls
  • How You Will Be Assessed

    Continuous assessment throughout the year.

  • Entry Requirements

    3 GCSEs at Grade 9-3, including English and Maths.

    All learners will be required to complete a BKSB assessment.

  • Further Study

    On completion at Level 1, you can progress as a full-time learner to the Level 2 Technical certificate/Diploma in Bricklaying.

    Alternatively, if you gain employment in the sector you can return as an apprentice. There are six entry points to the apprenticeship programme in any one year.
