Course Overview
This course is designed for those working in the adult care sector and looking to increase their knowledge and skills in the sector.
This course is a fully online course, where you can access the course materials and assessments 24 hours a day, you will also be provided with 1:1 tutor support throughout your course.
To undertake this course, you must be working or volunteering in the sector.
What You Will Study
Throughout this course you study 19 units over different subject areas in the Adult social care sector. Some of the units include:
- Understand Mental Capacity and Restrictive Practices
- Principles of Advocacy
- Support Person-Centred Thinking, Planning and Review
- Understand Social Prescribing
- Attendance Expectations
There is no on-site attendance required, though students are expected to undertake 10-15 hours study per week. With 1:1 tutorials available.
- How You Will Be Assessed
You will be assessed through a variety of different methods, including written essays, presentations and short answer questions. You will also need a work placement.
- Entry Requirements
A Level 2 in Social Care would be advantageous.
A work or volunteer placement in an adult social care setting.

There is funding available for this course, subject to previous qualifications, if you are not eligible for funding the course can be funded via the Advanced Learner Loan.

Access to HE courses are designed to enable you upon successfully completion to progress to Higher Education.
