Course Overview
Designed for anyone who want to achieve a full qualification in gents' barbering. The course will include professional demonstrations for all aspects of learning with the option of attending exhibitions and shows in Manchester, Blackpool, Birmingham and London.
The practical work will be carried out in the hairdressing/barbering salon workshops. The practical aspect of the course will be supported by theory work and oral questions. Practical work will take place on head forms and clients and then you will be required to supply your own models to develop skills and achieve practical assessments. Theory work will be either written assignments or online exams.
What You Will Study
The course will cover Barbering services in theory and practice and will include the following units:
- Working in the hair industry
- Follow health and safety practice in the salon
- Client consultation for hair services
- Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp
- Promote products and services to clients in a salon
- Cut men's hair
- Cut facial hair
- Styling men's hair
- Attendance Expectations
The course will run on a Thursday from 9.30am-2.30pm.
- How You Will Be Assessed
You will need to produce a portfolio of evidence and will be continually assessed throughout in both practical and theory sessions.
- Entry Requirements
GCSEs at Grade 9-4 in English and Maths.
OR
Level 1 qualification.
AND
Successful interview.
