Course Overview
This course can either be studied at Selby College or Castleford College.DIY courses are designed for homeowners and property developers interested in developing the practical skills to complete tasks within residential premises they own. The courses are offered with flexible start dates throughout the year.
You will develop your skills through practical activity in our purpose-built workshop areas.
What You Will Study
This short course is practically based and will support you to develop the skills to work with carpentry tools and fittings, to carry out basic carpentry tasks within your property.

Wednesday afternoon to evening or Saturday morning.

Assessment will be continuous throughout the course.

This is a free course.
Recent changes to funding guidelines mean that the area you live in at the start of your course affects your eligibility for government funding and whether your course could be free.
The College is only able to provide government funding or free courses to students who live within North and West Yorkshire. Therefore, if the address you provide when you enrol is not within these areas, you may not be fundable/eligible for a free course.
