Course Overview

This Entry Level programme in Motor Vehicle Studies is ideal for those wishing to move on to a full-time Level 1 course.

The course covers multi skills in all aspects of motor vehicle maintenance including, Mechanics, Body Repair and Motor Cycle. This involves a combination of practical work in the workshops and theoretical studies in the classroom.

You’ll learn through a combination of 50% practical work in the workshops and 50% theoretical studies in the classroom.

What You Will Study

  • Engine Operating Principles
  • Brakes
  • Suspension
  • Wheels and Tyres
  • How You Will Be Assessed

    You’ll be assessed through practical tasks conducted in our mechanical workshops and evolve online knowledge examinations and portfolio building.

  • Entry Requirements

    Predicted 3 GCSEs at Grade 2-1 including English and Maths.

    AND

    A genuine interest in the subject/profession.

    AND

    A good reference from Head of Year 10 or Headteacher.

  • Further Study

    On successful completion and with the required English and Maths grades you can progress through the levels.
