Course Overview
If you are looking at a career in Travel and Tourism then this course will help you further develop your knowledge and understanding of the sector and support you in pursuing a career within the Travel and Tourism sector.
You will learn through a variety of activities including guest speakers, visits to workplaces, University centre lesson based activities and practical application of skills.
What You Will Study
The HNC course consists of 120 credits at Level 4 which includes the following:
Mandatory units:
- Travel and Tourism business toolkit
- Contemporary issues in Travel and Tourism
- Professional practice
- Tour Operations Management
- Managing Conference and Events
- Travel and Tourism Marketing
Assessment methods are assignment based and may include practical projects including presentations, group activities, written reports or research projects.
- Attendance Expectations
16 hours per week over three to four days per week.
- How You Will Be Assessed
There are no formal exams on the BTEC Higher National Certificate course.
Most modules will be assessed by a mixture of coursework and end of module tests. Some practical modules are assessed on 100% coursework.
Assessment methods are assignment based and may include practical projects including presentations, group activities, written reports or research projects.
- Entry Requirements
48 UCAS points.
OR
Level 3 qualification in a Travel related subject, Access to Higher Education Diploma.
AND
A satisfactory interview.
