Fully-funded (free) LGV Driver Training Course
Gain a Cat C driving licence (vehicles over 3,500kg with a trailer up to 750kg) and all the skills required to gain employment as an LGV driver.

What You Will Study
Delivered at the Castleford training centre of our deliver partner, Viamaster Training.
Course Content:
- All theory tests
- Theory practice
- Practical driving
- Employability
Masterclasses:
- Tachograph training
- Vulnerable road users
- Vehicle safety rollovers & bridge strikes
- Road craft
- Safe & fuel efficient safe urban driving

- Attendance Expectations
Learners will not attend every day in the first few weeks. They will attend one or two days a week, increasing as the course progresses.
- How You Will Be Assessed
Practical and theory driving tests.
- Entry Requirements
- 19+
- Work or live in Wakefield district (check with us if unsure)
- Have held a car driving licence for 2 years
- Pass medical screening (required for licence)
- Minimum standard of English (screening will be carried out)
- Fee Information
Free for learners who self-refer.
Employers who refer staff will have to pay a contribution - £450pp if you are an SME (fewer than 250 employees) and £1350pp for large businesses (250+ employees).
- Further Study
Job seekers completing the course are guaranteed a job interview with an employer who is looking to hire new LGV Drivers.
Employed participants will gain new skills and knowledge which will help them to progress their career.
All participants could progress onto Cat C + E licence (trailers over 7500KG) after 6 months of driving with Cat C.
