Autocare Technician Apprenticeship

We specialise in Land Rovers and Range Rovers offering a unique working platform. We work on many new vehicles and some high-end vehicles. If you are able to offer the care and attention these vehicles deserve, then we will teach you the required skills to carry out all the necessary repairs.

Apprenticeship summary

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Diagnosing vehicle faults manually or with the aid of software and digital tools
  • Preparing cost and time estimates for work done
  • Repairing and replacing faulty vehicle parts
  • Performing test drives to check repairs
  • Carrying out scheduled servicing and maintenance
  • Updating vehicle service records
  • Installing and fitting new vehicle accessories
  • Maintaining a database of spare parts in the repair garage

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Apprentice will initially be working towards a Level 2 Autocare apprenticeship, with the opportunity to move onto a Level 3 Light Motor Vehicle Maintenance apprenticeship qualification
  • Training will be given at Castleford College
  • Apprentice will study one day a week
  • If apprentice does not already hold GCSE maths and English at 4/C or above, they may be eligible and will be required to complete a Level 2 Function Skills qualification in both maths and English alongside apprenticeship. These are completed in a week block (one week for each) at Castleford College

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • Opportunity to go on to become a fully qualified mechanic
  • Opportunity to move onto a Level 3 Light Motor Vehicle Maintenance apprenticeship
  • Potential to become permanent role
