WSG Provalve have 2 apprenticeship opportunities available. The successful candidates will work closely with senior VLV technicians and machinists. Gaining knowledge on parts and products. They will work towards eventually representing WSG onsite with fellow technicians.

Apprenticeship summary

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Stripdown of VLV and VLV associated equipment
  • Clean up and inspection reports
  • Remedial activities e.g machining
  • Assembly of all components
  • Pressure testing
  • Calibration
  • Spray painting

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The apprentice will work towards completion of the Level 2 Engineering operative apprenticeship, on the mechanical pathway.

The apprentice will complete the following as part of this : -

Level 2 Diploma Engineering Operations Skills L2 - Mechanical Certificate Engineering Operations Knowledge L2 - Mechanical

The apprentice will attend Castleford College on day release.

 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Become a fully qualified machinist / valve technician.

Attending sites and clients independantly.

Things to consider

A lot of manual handling and hand tools used. Outdoor working when on site. Sometimes may be required to work overtime with little notice.
